Mom, I like my life.
Jake, nearly 10
I surely don’t do everything right, but that statement means I’m doing something right…right?

For this ridiculous dress. And late 80s triangle hair-do. Count me as a contestant in Promalapooza, or whatever it is!
Actually not the prom pic, that seems to have been burned. That’s another story. This is me, at my sister’s Sweet Sixteen, with Long Haired Hottie hubby-to-be, who is more hottie now, than then. Whassup glasses? He’s aging nicely, and has newer specs. Thank God. And don’t tell us he looks like John Lennon, he gets testy about that. Why would we ever say that?
OK, viewed this posted, and thought it was so fun, I’m going to do ALL four years of prom dresses…for your viewing enjoyment?
This is the year I was dating a bad boy (my mom cried when we drove off). Do I think I’m going to the ice capades here? What’s with the one arm bared design? I was also trying to make my hair big.

And then, the year earlier. God help me, I was Scarlett with 80s hair. White gloves? Egaads. But, to be that thin again…it’ll never happen. (sigh)

And last, which is actually first…Hellooo? Cinderella called…she wants her dress back for the ball!
The Urban Dictionary Word of the Day is…
Unschooling
A term coined in the 70’s by writer and former school-teacher John Holt. Used to describe the practice of an individual who does not attend school- instead choosing to travel, write, play, run, build things, volunteer, and learn about the world free of grades, subjects, periods and “school hours”.
“where most schooling puts the emphasis on what needs to be learned, unschooling puts the emphasis on who is doing the learning.”
Every 12 days or so, I am completely devoid of any inspiration for supper. I can get through breakfast, punt during lunch, but then…it’s supper time. Pasta? Naaaah. Had that 4 times in the last 12 days. Chicken something? Sick of chicken. Beef Tacos? Really don’t want to eat that much beef. Not a veggie here, but not a big meat lover either. Soups? Hubby and kids are not real keen on them. Sandwiches? Could do it, but that’s usually the lunch fare. Pancakes and whatever? Maybe, but for some reason, just don’t get jazzed about breakfast for supper.
So, enough of yall stop by here to help me out, if you will. What do you really like to cook/serve? What do you find kid/hubby friendly, time after time? Do you have a burnout point at which you implement _______ menu choice, and if so, what is it?!? Do you have a family fave that you would recommend to others? I’m really open. I’m just in big time supper burn out…
