of my son.

When discussing the fact that most children don’t lose teeth til they are 6 or so (his big sister just lost one, and he is jealous), Blue Boy asked me why. Why is it like that? That you don’t lose teeth til you’re 6 or so. Well, darlin, that’s just the way God make your body to grow. Your teeth will come out when they should. You just have to be patient. Well, when did he make us and decide that’t the way it should be? He asked. I told him what I think, that he was created and planned years and years ago, before the beginning of time, and that is just what God thought would work best. Well, when? I don’t have that exact time, hon, but it was a loooong time ago. He then asked, was it way back in the ’30s? Now everybody say, aaaaawwwwwwwww, isn’t that too sweet!

Showed the children Rudolph via the inverter hooked to our car battery 2 nights ago. Looked forward to the bonding, much like The Queen of Spain showing her beloved the old Frosty. Snuggled in, fire blazing, movie starting to roll.

First, we saw that it was made in ’64. Ouch. I kept thinking it came out sometime in the late 70s, early 80s, knowing that’s impossible, but then, I still think I’m 22. As the opening scene commences, the children start. Comments include: 1. That is not what Santa would look like, he’s too thin with a HUGE head. 2. Is this like, bad CGI or what? 3. What is up with the googly eyeballs? 4. Why would any adult reindeer put mud on his kid’s nose? 5. Why did they say it was “time to get the women reindeer home”? 6. Why does Mr. Donner get to tell Mrs. Donner what to do? 7. What is up with that stupid squeaking every time Rudolph’s nose glows? 8. No game coach would really make fun of one of his players. 9. Who would be afraid of that abominable snow thing? And my favorite, 10. When will this be over? Sympathies to the Queen. We feel your pain.

On another note, Gallimaufry has a fun little story game going. Check it out. We all add a part of the story, and see where it goes. He did one last week, and it went so well, he’s doing another. Come on, join the crowd…everybody’s doing it…

Aaaahhhhhh. The dryer is running. The washer is running. The dishwasher is running. The DVD player is running. Coffee is perking. The Christmas lights are twinkling, and my toes are warm. Toasty, toasty warm. And the dog has had his hated coat removed. Forget any statements ever made about loving to live in an antebellum age (Scarlett fixation). I love the 21st Century. And in the 21st Century, there are goodies like Lexapro, and Wellbutrin. That’s gotta count for something. I’d probably have flipped my crinoline wearing arse out in 1854. Scarlett on a whiskey binger following post partum depression. Maybe pulling a ivory handled pistol on her Rhett. Burning down Mammy’s kitchen. Not pretty. (Don’t think I’m glamorizing slavery, just recalling the movie. I’m all about that being one of our most evil institutions in history)

So this morning, I’m back to ignoring the children as usual. They’re probably not that hungry yet, anyway. And I’ve been thinking about my own “hook”. R2ks has Refrigerator Art on Mondays, I know Phantom has Whining Wednesdays, Leanne does a Thursday 13, and I think Running is doing a Thankful on that day two. I’m sure that Tuesday is taken somewhere. I’ve been thinking of something along the lines of Flashback Friday. A day where we post a favorite picture, from any time in our lives, or even our friends or other families. Gotta grandpa from 1904 that you’d love to show off? A shot of a newborn that makes you smile? Wedding pics? Highschool graduation? Keg party? You favorite sofa, or most hated one? Would it be fun to post it, and write a little description, and see everyone else’s fav memories?

Just putting it out there, getting a little feedback (can’t do anything without everyone’s approval and affirmation). I may just do it myself, just because I want to. And that’s what this is all about, right? Me. But, since I’m just codependent enough, please let me know what you think. Please?
